Soul Weapons System

Passive

Wields six soul weapons (Tetsubo, Sickle, Kodachi, Mallet, Spear Fork, Saw) in addition to the primary Kama-Yari. Landing finisher attacks with each weapon grants a soul. Collect all six to unlock Seven-Force Strike. Souls glow when obtained.

Mad Monk Zone

Chain Zone

A feintable zone attack with hyperarmor that can be soft-feinted into Guard Break. Excellent for team fights with wide area of effect. Can be chained after any attack except bash.

Playstyle Overview

Sohei's unique playstyle revolves around collecting souls to unlock the powerful Seven-Force Strike. Use enhanced light openers to initiate offense, then land finisher attacks in all six directions (left/top/right for both light and heavy) to collect souls. The fastest way to gather souls is through Guard Break punishes - spam light or heavy attacks after GB to instantly fill three souls. Once all six souls are collected, land a forward dodge bash to unleash the devastating 95-damage Seven-Force Strike.

  • Prioritize Guard Break punishes to rapidly collect souls (3 at once)
  • Use enhanced light openers to safely initiate offense
  • Heavy openers have hyperarmor - use them to trade with opponents
  • Top light finisher is undodgeable - use it to catch dodges
  • All heavy finishers are unblockable - great for pressure
  • Left heavy finisher causes bleed and pins - excellent for executions
  • Mad Monk Zone is great for team fights with its wide range and hyperarmor
  • Souls are lost on death or round start - use Seven-Force Strike before dying
  • Soul Soother feat (Tier 2) lets you consume souls to fully heal
